Interdisciplinary Real World Problem Solving

Help me give my students the best education possible so they can become real-world problem solvers and critical thinkers!

My Students

My students are critical thinkers, real-world problem solvers, and are opinionated. My students are ready to take on challenges using their creativity combined with technology. My classroom pushes interdisciplinary instructions, often overlapping science and English. The need to be scientifically literate is critical, as my students need to learn how to convey their findings to their peers.

I use technology heavily in my classroom.

In this ever-expanding world of technological advances, students need to be able to share their ideas, find unbiased sources, and share their discoveries with others. My students are ready for this challenge.

My Project

I'm a new teacher wanting to give my students the best education I can. I plan on doing this with an interdisciplinary focus on English and Science. This project is to step up my classroom, giving students items that they need to succeed, such as scissors, colored pencils, markers, and folders.

Because my students all come from low-income households, they lack access to even the simplest of items to complete their school projects.

The items in my cart would give them a head start early in the year- posters for encouragement and learning, pencil sharpeners for ease, and leaf paper for creative writing. It will be easier to tackle projects and posters given a variety of supplies! They will be able to color papers in glue in their interactive notebooks for science or create comic strips to visualize the climax of a novel.
