Help me give my students a way to interact with each other in a crowded classroom.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I co-teach Math to three groups of 7th and 8th grade students. These students are very eager to learn and are concerned with their future. They enjoy working together in groups and solving problems. They are Jr High students that are getting prepared for the next level of education.
The students I work with are focusing on becoming the future work force.
They are involved in football, cheer, choir, and other extra activities for the community. They are taught to be respectful and think to solve problems. They could grow from having access to more technology in their work groups.
I have selected a document camera and digitizer pen pad so that student work can be displayed and critiqued by the students. Different students could answer in different ways with this unique tool. The students can use the remote pen pad to be interactive with the board from a distance. Participation from individuals and groups would be increased.
Students can work together from their class location to complete activities.
This will help build community interaction. The class is crowded and not much room to be an interactive participant. Groups could answer on the visual display using the pen creating more involvement.
