My Students

My class is full of curious, enthusiastic learners that strive to go beyond the textbook. From Revolutionary War simulations to peer writing groups, my students bring a sense of application to every lesson. This diverse group of students has varying needs and strengths, and planning to meet that diversity is a daily challenge. In my class, we try to experience history rather than read about it- we've even had heated debates that are so intense that students stay in for recess to prepare their arguments. This group of students will stop at nothing to learn about and enjoy their world!

My Project

I have requested individual whiteboards for each of the 30 students in my class, with room for growth. These whiteboards will help my students be actively engaged in learning in whole-class, small-group, and one-on-one settings. They will increase participation and engagement in every aspect of classroom instruction.

The writing prompt and paired text passages will be essential in building a group of strong writers by increasing rigor and providing feedback.

With these materials in my classroom, I will be able to more effectively target the weaknesses and strengths of my students' writing. My parent volunteers will also use these materials when working with students.
