My students are in grades 3-5 and they receive an additional 30 minutes a day of small group reading instruction to improve their reading processes. They read and write each day in the group, and they learn new skills and strategies by working on their level.
My students put forth a good effort and grow as readers through specific instruction tailored to what they can do and build from there.
My school is a Title I School. All students receive free lunch due to the level of poverty.
This magnetic easel cart will be a tool used every day for word work. Word work is taught every lesson and is essential for students to grow as a reader. Students need a tool that allows them to work where they see the letters right in front of them.
Students need to see the magnetic letters at eye level and to be able to manipulate them to gain fast recognition using a variety of word work activities.
This easel will allow me to model and students to practice word work. There is also storage for sorting materials that we may need. We will also use this tool for writing and creating anchor charts.
