In my classroom we are constantly looking for ways to help my students become more independent and engaged with-in the school environment and curriculum. Through out the entire day we focus on creating a hands-on experience for our students by integrating technology into their learning.
I teach elementary students with a variety of Cognitive Impairments and disabilities, including Down Syndrome, Russell Silver Syndrome and Williams Syndrome.
All of my students are unique and have amazing skills and varying needs. In my classroom, we work on so many things including: life skills, communication, gross/fine motor skills, reading and math.
Just like their peers they enjoy learning through technology and receive a better understanding of the curriculum through a hands on approach. Although they all learn in different ways and at a different pace technology can assist in their processing skills.
My Project
From morning meeting, math, reading, writing and circle time our students will utilize the interactive board multiple times on a daily basis. It will be integrated into my daily instruction to help enhance my lessons and the students learning. There isn't a part of our day that wont benefit from an interactive whiteboard.
My students learn better and understand concepts through repetitive practice and a variety of instructional methods.
By implementing an interactive whiteboard into my daily instruction my students will be able to learn materials in a new and fun way.
