My students need interactive white board programs, like a set of Fiction & Nonfiction Comprehension Activities and a Reading Comprehension Games Library, plus some additional games, to instill excitement into their learning.
One of the challenges I face as an educator is that I am given new technology, but I'm given very little resources to use with it. I have an Interactive Whiteboard but I need some programs to get the most potential out of this tool. My students need new and exciting ways to be able to learn.
It is amazing the technology that is out there today!
However, it is disappointing that children have little access to it in the schools. I want to change that. Students need to be able to have tools to help them reach their potential and I firmly believe that having current technology will help.
I have a very culturally diverse class. My students come from many different backgrounds. They are a hard-working group that has already proved to me that they have a love of learning. I truly want to foster that love and help it to grow! Some have no access to any kind of technology. This project presents an opportunity to have hands-on experience with technology that can increase their learning abilities.
My Project
These programs, in conjunction with my interactive whiteboard, will enhance learning in my classroom. The programs enable to students to have a hands-on experience. The variety of programs listed will focus heavily on reading and math. Skills that are necessary at a first grade level will be addressed with this software. Students will be able to show and share their learning not only with me, but with their classmates as well. All students will be actively engaged, which means that lessons will flow more smoothly. This will give me a chance to reteach any skills that are difficult. This is a great opportunity for my students to have access to material that they would not have had in the past.
Technology is a part of our lives.
It's even more of a factor in the lives of our children. I believe that it is important for students to be given every chance possible to achieve their full potential. This project will fill in a small gap for not only my current students, but those I will have in the future. Thank you for your consideration.
