Interactive students make an interactive classroom, why not make lessons the same? An interactive whiteboard will allow my kindergarteners to engage with lessons and activities in a way that could never be done before, not without an interactive whiteboard.
Our school is one of the first in our area that includes students of all abilities in a single classroom.
Students who develop typically, students with special needs, and students who are gifted learn side-by-side with each other and from each other. All of our students are resilient individuals that, despite their differences, make our school a welcoming community. Including all students with their peers all day makes for an interesting and exciting day, each and every day. It is wonderful to watch the students learn and grow together.
My Project
I am requesting an interactive whiteboard for my classroom. An interactive whiteboard will allow my students to engage in lessons that I cannot do with a mouse and a projector. It allows them to interact not only with the teachers in the room but with the content of the lessons and their peers. Imagine students coming up to the board with excitement, without hesitation and with the motivation to succeed. An interactive whiteboard will allow me, as an educator, to enhance lessons in a way that is relevant to the students. I will be able to include all students' needs in lessons without having to create and re-create tasks on paper; save the trees! This particular interactive whiteboard also gives the option to use it as an actual whiteboard with a magnetic surface so that I am able to continue to use some of the lessons I currently have. I envision this interactive whiteboard as a way to be more effective for my students, for myself, and for future students to come.
For students of all abilities, modeling, visuals and interaction is key in learning new concepts.
An interactive whiteboard is the next step in teaching students to be diverse learners and demonstrate a responsibility and motivation for learning. An interactive whiteboard will help get us there.
