Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students that will benefit from this technology are hard working 11th and 12th graders, mostly in Math class with a few in Science class as well. I am proud to say that these students are some of the most friendly and respectful students that I have ever worked with. These students work hard to achieve in an older building and in a district facing ever increasing budget cuts. The use of technology is an important key to their success in the classroom.
The technology I am hoping to purchase is the Mimio Teach interactive white board.
These devices turn any white board into a "smart board" that allows teachers to create interactive lessons that incorporate traditional instruction with the variety of helpful online applications. Not only do these devices help with engagement in the classroom which leads to student success, the presentations can be saved as PDF files for students to view later for review or to access if they miss a class.
My Project
Using these interactive white boards greatly increases student engagement which leads to greater success in the classroom. All presentations can be saved, with annotations and work done by both the teacher and the students, as PDF files which can be saved and viewed by any students at any time. The software allows teachers to be better prepared in advance for lessons saving time for addressing student needs during the class.
These products turn a regular white board into a 'smart board.' They integrate perfectly with the technology we have in place already to create a much more engaging experience for our students.
