My Students

Our Montessori classroom consists of 4th, 5th and 6th graders who are eager to explore the world around them. Each child has the opportunity to utilize the skills they have learned and expand in exploration and individualized research. My students develop into life long learners and truly love to learn. Attending an inner city school, the students in our classroom enter into an environment that can be drastically different than their home life and the sense of ease and calmness that is displayed on their faces once they walk through the door allows for a true leaning experience.

Throughout my time with my students, they have demonstrated incredible independence and creativity.

By allowing them the ability to take ownership of their education, they in turn have truly immersed themselves in understanding at a deeper level.

My Project

The landform model will make the difference in my students' learning by allowing them to have hands-on exploration with all geological landforms and cultural materials that are required by state standards. By using this model the students will have a deeper understanding of these skills and in turn can generalize the learned skills into the real world.

Building a more well rounded student is my goal, and materials such as this model enhance their learning experience and create life long learners.

Possessing a 3-D model of multiple landscapes showing geologic and geographic details available for my students gives them the opportunity to physically feel and see the diversity of our earth.
