My students walk into our classroom every day with big smiles on their faces, eager to learn. They genuinely want to be at school, and they have the most caring hearts! We have a strong community where we help each other learn and grow.
I teach at a Title I school where majority of our students did not have the opportunity to attend preschool.
100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch, and most students receive food bags for the weekend. Despite these hardships, my students are enthusiastic, loving, and try their best every day!
My Project
My students need engaging books for interactive read aloud lessons that will provide them the opportunities to deepen their thinking. Students will participate in discussions with classmates to make connections and observations throughout the lessons.
Children are naturally creative and need to be given the opportunities to express their thinking.
Interactive read aloud lessons build the foundation for a love of literacy by taking the time to simply discuss what is going through students' creative minds.
All of these interactive read aloud books teach more than just standards; they are giving children the opportunity to critically think about the world around them while engaging in meaningful peer conversations.
