Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Sadly, in this age of the Internet and video gaming, pencil-and-paper learning just can't compete!

The students at our school are from socio-economically disadvantaged families.

Many of their parents do not speak English. We strive every day to close the achievement gap and bring these students up-to-pace so that they may have every opportunity for success.

My Project

We will use the response system (remote clickers) every day to engage students in learning activities and make learning fun. I have had the opportunity to use these once before, and have seen first-hand how positively students react to the ability to interact with what is being taught. Instead of just calling on one student at a time for an answer, now all students can participate simultaneously. We will use the response system for lessons, activities, assessments, and learning games.

This project will surely have a profound impact on my students.

I believe those students who are not usually engaged will now want to be involved. It will make all students not only accountable, but engaged and hopefully entertained.
