This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are creative and great problem solvers, therefore I make learning fun, interactive, and teach life long skills. Many of my students are involved in extra-curricular activities outside of school. I teach mostly 9th and 10th grade students, with an average of 25-30 students per class. As a 9th grader in high school, it can be intimidating and overwhelming; therefore, I try to help ease my students into their new world by helping them with skills such as organization by using their creativity.
My Project
I believe my 2nd semester students could greatly benefit from gaining the same skills and knowledge from using these notebooks in my classroom. This past semester is my first using interactive notebooks funded by Donors Choose. My students really dove into creating their notebooks and making them their own. They learned organization, note taking, and responsibility through having to keep notebooks. They were able to create foldables and make their notebook a study tool. Now that the semester is coming to an end, they will use their notebooks as study guides for their final. Thank you for your donations to future generations.
