My students need interactive notebooks. A school-wide initiative, AVID, helps prepare students for college and career readiness. Interactive notebooks are a great resource that students create as they extend their learning.
My Kindergarten kiddos are curious, eager and excited to learn. Most of them are at-risk and come from low-income housing. Many of my students don't experience or see a lot of things outside of their communities/home. My goal is to allow them to explore the most in the classroom through various resources provided to them. A school initiative, AVID, supports students as we teach them skills for college and career readiness. As their teacher, I continue to strive to create a learning environment where each student reaches success through his/her own individual determination.
My Project
My students need interactive notebooks (INB). I am requesting INB's in areas of math and language arts. With the INB's, students will write or cut and paste tasks that reinforce skills learned. Furthermore, the mailboxes will be used as an organization tool to store their notebooks. Lastly, the magnetic storage boxes will be used to store the supplies (pencils, erasers, glue, crayons, etc.) needed to complete tasks in their INB's.

Interactive notebooks are a great resource that students create as they extend their learning. INB's are a helpful and successful tool in kindergarten as it allows for color and creativity! INB's can help students to be more neat and organized as the notebooks help reduce clutter by eliminating excess, loose, and lost papers. In all, it is truly a beneficial tool for students as they learn how to work with both sides of their brain. It benefits all types of learning styles.
