This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
On a typical day in my classroom you will find students broken up into small groups to work on a hands-on activity. I definitely believe in having an active classroom where students are engaged in their learning.
My students are very hardworking motivated learners who love to be active in the classroom.
Ninety-two percent of students in my school receive free or reduced lunch. Thirty-two percent of students in my classroom are English language learners (ELL) and twenty-eight percent of my students participate in the special education program.
My Project
The classroom pack of markers will be used to color and draw materials to put into our interactive notebooks. Students are able to show their creativity utilizing the marker set. Even though coloring supplies are a part of the student supply list, most students are unable to afford the materials needed. Having a classroom set of markers will alleviate some of the burden from parents.
Our interactive science journals are a huge part of the classroom curriculum.
Students create flip books, tabs, charts, etc. to be used as study tools. They tape will be used to help create our fun interactive journals!
