My students need colored paper, pencils, and glue sticks to affix colorful and informative accents to their interactive notebooks. All of our standards, unit tabs, and graphic organizers are copied on colored paper.
I teach 5th grade in a semi-rural school in Southern Ohio. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds, however, the majority of my students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
We use interactive math notebooks as a way to participate and reflect on our own learning.
My students are energetic and enthusiastic about Math! I want to make math class as hands-on and interactive as possible. When students take ownership of their learning, they are more successful and motivated.
My Project
I chose colorful, economical paper that will highlight and reinforce learning in our interactive math notebooks. Students work in their notebooks each day. The colored pencils will be used to add details to their graphic organizers. Instead of having a traditional textbook, we create our own learning resource! When students take ownership of their learning, learning is more fun and meaningful!
This supply of paper, glue, and pencils will last 75 students an entire school year!
The students will be able to take this notebook with them to 6th grade, home when they need to study and use during class.
