Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students feel math is impossible. They have struggled for so many years by the time they reach middle school. Let them interact and become excited about math again!
Many of my students are learning disabled, and they struggle with abstract processes in math.
As soon as they interact with the activity digitally, they will be more apt to repeat the multi-step procedure with pencil and paper and be more successful at math!
I am a the only ESE resource teacher in my school. When a student's IEP (Individualized Education Plan) says they must have a smaller class for math, they must come to my class. I have a majority of my students for 3 years. They have 15 or less students in my resource classes.
My Project
My classroom is equipped with an Elmo, and a regular projector. However, I am unable to procure a smartboard for day to day use. This interactive projector would be perfect. I would LOVE to install a wall mounted Epson BRIGHTLINK, but the building will not install it. This is a perfect solution!
My students will be motivated and eager to come up to the board and interact with the games, activities and problems in front of their classmates. I will be able to assist them to ensure the are successful and walk back to their seat proud and confident with their ability. Many of the students are ADHD and cannot sit for 50 minutes. This will allow them to get out of their seats and still be active in their learning.
I am a technology savvy teacher that would love in make every lesson interactive.
Using a laptop and this purchase, I will be able to reach more more difficult students. As I mentioned before, I am a resource teacher. I have a majority of my students for 3 years. This "teach-nology" would bring a fresh approach to my paper-pencil note taking math class.
