Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Together my co-teacher and I teach 2 preschool classes that are a blend of special needs and typical peers. Our class ages range from 3 to 5 years old and we have a current total of 27 students. Our plan is to have the ability to reach over 27 children with our class request.
Many of our student's have varying exceptionalities, each with their own unique need that would benefit from the interactive books that are provided on the Kids Kindle.
We would also like to encourage the love of reading for our typical peers.
We would like to be able to give our students the opportunity to experience literacy activities through the use of the interactive books and games that are provided on the Kids Kindle.
My Project
The devices would be used as an extra tool to help support literacy, phonemic awareness and early reading skills. We would use the devices during center times, quiet times and during circle time activities. We also hope to teach and encourage independence when navigating the devices by allowing them to choose their own books and/or games.
We would like to inspire the love of books and reading while giving our students fun and engaging experiences through the interactive books that are provided on the Kids Kindle.
We hope to instill the love of reading that will follow them through out their education.
