This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are an energetic and eager group of 2nd graders! Many of them have parents and guardians who work very hard to give them what they need to be successful in school. Several students in my class have IEP's and learn best with interactive and hands-on activities.

Our classroom is an active learning environment, where students are in frequent motion and learning new things through many modalities.

I strive to provide them with as many opportunities to participate as I can.

We are eager to get this 2018-2019 school year started!

My Project

All children love to learn in a classroom that is bright, colorful, and involves student interaction as much as possible. Active learning has been shown to increase retention in students, particularly young learners.

I want to give my 2nd graders as many opportunities to participate in their learning as possible!

Our reading and math curriculum have websites that include online games and activities. These games and activities can be used to introduce new concepts, as well as, reinforce those concepts already taught. An interactive whiteboard system and whiteboard will allow my students to participate in these activities and be more active in their learning.
