My Students

Living in an Alaskan village is an extraordinary experience for everyone. People come together to support one another in the most challenging situations, and no challenge is too great for our students to overcome. My students are eager to learn and love to explore their world. All of my students have disabilities, but you would never know it by the joy they share with the world every day.

There is no greater pleasure than when a "nonverbal" child with autism reads to another student, or when a student with a disability is genuinely loved and supported by their peers in the classroom.

If you want to learn about kindness, love, and inclusion, then look no further.

My Project

Students with disabilities have unique challenges in their ability to access a standard whiteboard or even a regular computer. The large touch screen that can also be used as a table will enable our students to access technology that other people use every day.

Imagine a classroom where students work on a project at the whiteboard or a smartboard, chatting, and finding solutions.

Now, imagine a child that cannot reach that board or use a marker to participate.

An interactive board that can be reached by students with disabilities will allow all of my students to participate in every board-centered project.
