Interactive Learning in Math, Literacy, and Science
My students need two Apple iPad minis (with Retina display with Wi-Fi) and protective cases to access digital literacy resources that will improve student engagement.
As students enter my classroom they work in collaborative groups to explore and apply their math knowledge. By using small groups I can incorporate and rotate students through hands-on and interactive projects.
I currently have 23 students in my classroom.
At this time my students share three desktop computers in our classroom throughout the school day. When my students leave my classroom they find themselves in a world filled with technology. I want to bring more tools into our classroom to effectively integrate technology into Reading, Science, and Math.
Our school is eagerly working to provide students with the 21st Century skills that they need to be productive citizens in our community. We continue to strive for excellence, and we are working diligently to find more opportunities to bring technology into each classroom. As educators we realize that as the world around us changes, our approach to teaching must evolve as well. My goal is to inspire my students to be lifelong learners that explore, challenge, analyze, and discover new ways to apply what they learn.
My Project
With two Apple iPad minis (with Retina display with Wi-Fi) my students will be able to conduct research, watch curriculum-based videos, listen to audiobooks, record oral presentations, and complete academic tasks that incorporate QR codes or interactive websites. In today's learning environment students are able to access information in many ways. Having access to technology will help them apply their knowledge in a variety of ways. By using these resources students will be actively engaged and able to explore learning in new creative ways. There are so many wonderful learning opportunities that these devices can offer once they are integrated into our classroom environment. The possibilities are almost endless.
Donations to this project will demonstrate to my students that we value their education and their futures.
It will allow us to bring 21st Century learning to life and will inspire students to share their ideas in new creative ways. In my class I have a poster that states "The Future Starts Today" and I truly believe that each day we build the futures of our children one classroom experience at a time.
