Do you remember the fun and excitement involved with learning? My students need interactive software to utilize the interactive technology that is available in our classroom.
My students are wonderful students in a special education classroom for third, fourth, and fifth grade.
Whether they have a learning disability, communication disorder, intellectual disability, and/or autism, we celebrate their unique individual learning styles and unlimited potentials for learning. My students are in an environment that provides a small setting focused on functional academic and life skills. They are an amazing group supported by a dedicated team of teachers, parents, specialists, and assistants.
My Project
I am requesting three sets of interactive software to utilize with our interactive whiteboard software. My special needs students learn best through hands-on and technology based instruction. Through the reading software my students will master reading concepts including beginning sounds, ending sounds, rhyming words, word meanings, syllables, contractions, synonyms, antonyms, spelling, verb tenses, parts of speech, punctuation, prefixes, and suffixes. Through the math software they will learn math concepts related to fractions through twelfths, money combinations, place value through thousands, and time to 5-minute intervals. This software will allow my students to work together during large group instruction utilizing our interactive whiteboard technology. The software will also allow them to then go to the computer station in our classroom and work on independently developing and maintaining the skills learned.
These materials will give my students that added boost they need in order to become confident with their learning.
They will over come the daily challenges they face and ultimately become successful and confident learners. This accomplishment with allow them to continue to thrive and feed their burning desire to keep learning.
