Interactive Learning for Special Education Classroom!
Help me give my students v visually engaging lessons with a Promethian ActivBoard Interactive Whiteboard. It will facilitate differentiated instruction, improve communication skills and engage visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles with ease!
I have the most AMAZING, hardworking and all round sweetest group of 2nd and 3rd graders in a self-contained special ed program. My students have developmental disabilities including Autism, Down Syndrome and Speech and Language Impairment. They benefit from a non-traditional classroom setting which includes a highly individualized program, low teacher to student ratio, consistency and structure as well as a support system of speech therapists, physical therapist and occupational therapists. My students work so hard to achieve skills that might come easily to a typical peer and it would mean the world to me to be able to give them a learning tool that could make learning a little bit easier!
My students benefit from lessons that are highly visual, hands-on and they benefit from frequent repetition to progress.
My Project
I would love for my 2nd and 3rd grade students with autism and other developmental disabilities to be able to have a way to increase learning potentials by the use of an interactive whiteboard in our classroom!
By donating to help us get an interactive whiteboard, you will be helping to increase student attention and focus as well as increase their overall academic achievement of each and every special needs student in my classroom.
My students need learning to be presented in a variety of ways and and interactive whiteboards foster kinesthetic, visual and auditory learning. A SMARTBoard helps students with autism, improve communication skills through group collaboration. It will also give me the ability to present things visually, and provide ease in creating and altering activities to control students’ learning.
