My Students

I work with Kindergarten through 5th grade students in daily small-group intervention sessions.

Each grade level comes to me for one focused hour of reading, math, and skill-building. Later in the day, I teach a separate group of New Arrivals—students who are brand new to the United States and learning English for the first time.

My students are bright, determined, and eager to learn, but many face significant challenges. A Promethean Interactive Whiteboard will allow me to create highly engaging lessons that adapt to each group I teach throughout the day. Because I teach different grade levels every hour, I need tools that can be quickly customized.

The Promethean Board will let students actively participate by:

Touching, dragging, and sorting images or words to show their understanding

Using virtual math manipulatives to solve problems

Playing interactive reading and vocabulary games

Circling text features or labeling diagrams

Building words with movable digital letter tiles

Collaborating with classmates on problem-solving tasks in real time

For Intervention Groups (K–5) and new arrival students: Students will get immediate feedback while practicing grade-level skills in reading and math. Lessons will be visually rich and interactive, helping struggling learners stay focused and motivated.

Teaching different grade levels back-to-back means I need versatile, high-impact tools that can engage both a 5-year-old learning letter sounds and a 10-year-old solving long division—often on the same day. The Promethean Board makes that possible. It allows me to switch lessons in seconds, keep students moving and interacting, and make abstract concepts concrete through visuals and hands-on digital activities.

For many of my students—especially those new to the country—this will be their first experience with interactive classroom technology. It will help them gain confidence, collaborate with peers, and see their ideas come to life on the big screen.
