My students need Learning Locks, an Osmo kit and Tracing Tiles interactive centers to make learning fun and help develop vocabulary, phonics knowledge, and so much more!
My Kindergarten class will be full of 24 high energetic and active learners. Our classroom has a diverse population, with a number of English Language Learners.
Each day our students come to class eager to learn with huge smiles on their faces, despite all the obstacles and challenges they face in or out of school.
They take pride in their learning, our classroom and our school. They demonstrate a true love of learning throughout the day. Our school is a Magnet school with a high focus on technology and STEM. We are fortunate to have multiple opportunities to learn hands-on through experiments and project based learning.
My goal this year is to enhance their learning by incorporating more technology throughout their day. We are hoping to get devices to use for cooperative group work!
My Project
Each day, students are pulled in small groups to practice reading accuracy, phonics skills and comprehension during guided reading with the teacher. While I am working with a small group, the majority of students are working independently in groups on a targeted skill.
These center activities will help bring learning to life by providing students with a hands-on activity that is fun and educational.
My kindergarten students love centers, and I know these new activities will only make their experience each day even better!
We have an iPad center for student access and the Osmo kit will be a fun way to practice math, reading and word building in pairs. This will allow even more students access to the technology in the classroom. Additionally, the Phonics Learning Locks are a fun and safe way for students who are struggling with certain sounds to practice in a hands-on way.
