My students need these nine interactive educational CD-ROM's (games, language skills, and math skills) so they may have an opportunity to use the newest technology while strengthening their reading and math abilities.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember getting excited about learning new things in school? Getting to the end of your elementary education in fifth grade and thinking about middle school! Now think what it would be like in today's environment without the background or ability to use the best available technology.
Our school is located in an urban inner city environment.
The students are hard working and eager to learn. Every day they practice and apply the core values of respect, honesty, responsibility, and integrity. They work well with what they have and they deserve the best we can give them. Our parents work hard and instill a hope and desire in their children to achieve beyond their reality and dream big. The teachers are dedicated to making sure no child is denied opportunity. The opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve. While we may not have the materials afforded other schools in more desirable zip codes, we never dwell on what we don't have, instead we are grateful for the things we do have and we celebrate our successes!
My Project
The math computation and reading comprehension CD ROMs we have targeted will work on our interactive boards already in place in our classroom. Interactive resources, such as these requested, help build character and leadership. Students can work as individuals or in teams to create an atmosphere of camaraderie and accomplishment. Both the challenged student as well as the student who needs to be challenged will benefit from the material and lesson processes included in this material and technology.
As our society quickly moves through ever changing high-tech modes of communicating ideas and information it is our responsibility to make sure our students are ready and capable to embrace change. It is also imperative that we blend tried and true teaching techniques with new and bold approaches to assist in educating our students in preparing them for the future!
The method of teaching these resources will contribute greatly to our classroom and will be nothing short of amazing.
Seeing a child light up when a new concept suddenly becomes clear, the dawn of understanding is one of the most spectacular things to witness. Yes, using these resources will be fun and add a level of excitement to our curriculum, but the reality is that across the board the abilities of all our students will be challenged and strengthened through their use.
