Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our class consists primarily of 27 English language learners. The class is comprised of a diverse population of Hispanics and French students. Most students derive from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and Africa. The students are enthusiastic and eager to learn especially using videos, technology, and visuals. They enjoy discussing in small groups.
Our school is located in the South Bronx area.
Our school has been extremely supportive with serving the needs of the ELL population with in-school services during school time and with after-school tutorial services as the community consists of low-income family homes.
My Project
The materials in this project will help with the organization of our learning centers. I plan to use the cart to help organize materials, worksheets, and books for each leveled center. The interactive notebooks will be a great resource to use in a center that requires more visuals and hands-on learning.
Organization and engagement are two important elements when teaching English language learning students.
