Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember your first day of kindergarten! The different centers and awesome creations you made! I would love for my kindergarten students to have the same incredible experience.
My students are a mixture of ESL and English students.
They are enrolled in our campus dual language program. They will learn both English and Spanish throughout the year. I have two classes, the yellow group and red group that rotate between myself and another teacher. They are very eager and excited to learn to read, write, and speak in two languages! Our school is also a member of No Excuses University which promotes college readiness, so my class has adopted a university to research.
My Project
Having activities like the language audio equipment and junction box will help increase their vocabulary. It will teach them to work in groups and the new vocabulary will increase the creativity in their writing. For kindergarten age children, sometimes they don't have the vocabulary to express their thoughts. Providing them with as many resources as possible to enhance this is crucial.
My project is important because early childhood education (kindergarten) is the foundation for many of our kids.
It is essential that we make learning a memorable and rewarding experience, so that they will continue to be intrinsically motivated to learn even when outside of the classroom.
