Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is filled with very energetic kindergarten students. It takes a wide variety of activities to keep them entertained. I teach math, science, social studies, and spanish. It is a full curriculum filled with a lot of work. I try to inspire creativity and imagination.
I have 2 classes.
I teach math, science, social studies and spanish to my morning class and then I teach the same subjects to my afternoon class. My morning class is full of energy. I have 12 boys and 6 girls. Activities need to be varied and exciting in order to keep them engaged. My afternoon class is evenly split with 8 boys and 8 girls. They are an ESOL class. They require a lot of attention, hands-on activities and assignments that will help them aquire the language while learning new material.
My Project
I requested 40 primary composition books for each of the two classes. I would use these books to create interactive notebooks for both math and science. This will help the students be creative and learn new material in a more exciting way. Interactive notebooks are a way for students to learn to take notes, cut corerctly, paste, and write in a nice and neat way.
This project will make a huge impact on my class.
Many of my classroom parents are unable to to purcahse more notebooks. It seems like a simple request but it would make a very big difference in our classroom and in my students learning experience.
