Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school desires to teach our students to pursue excellence and accountability in their own learning. Through this, my students utilize a hybrid-flipped classroom model as they begin to take accountability for their own education. This lends our class-time to demonstration, problem solving, and inquiry based learning.
My AP Chemistry and Anatomy & Physiology students are incredibly self-motivated, and make huge strides in taking advantage of open learning.
These students show that they are going to be successful for the real world because they are able to analyze situations, work in flexible groups and assignments, and adapt to all environments. Regardless of their life outside of school or my classroom, they know my classroom is a safe place to explore ideas, learn, ask new questions, and take their thinking to the next level.
My Project
All of these requested materials are for making interactive journals for my students. They will use these to organize their notes and thoughts, and make sure they have a clear idea and mastery space in the classroom. Interactive journals have been proven to be effective in many classrooms, and using them for advanced science courses will allow the students to further their independence in their own education. The interactive journals will further the student control and independence in their education, giving them more autonomy in their learning process. The students will use these to track their notes and progress throughout the year.
