This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from diverse backgrounds with their own challenges that they face inside and outside of school. I teach all levels of students - General ed, SPED and ESL students - all in an urban setting.
Every day these students strive to be better citizens despite the challenges they face, both at home and at school.
The best part about teaching such diverse groups is seeing their faces when they finally understand a concept or when other teachers in the building come and talk to me after hearing from students what I've taught them.
My Project
Everyone learns in various ways. Everyone organizes in various ways. Yet, for middle schoolers organization is one thing that they often lack. Interactive notebooks are a way to help students achieve this!
I use interactive notebooks in my class as a way to help my students not only learn better, but also keep their learning organized.
By funding this project, not only would you help students with their organizational skills, but also you would be helping students figure out what way they learn best! Not only do they need specific notebooks for this, but also various supplies to make their notebook shine like they do.
