Interactive Graph Notebooks for All Students

My students need graph paper notebooks so that they can keep excellent notes in an interactive notebook this year. Graph paper notebooks are expensive, and many of my students cannot afford them.

My Students

I teach Algebra and Geometry at a high school in which many students have historically struggled in mathematics. It is my goal to introduce students to the joys of mathematics, and to completely change their mindset about their own abilities to be successful in math.

Many of my students are unable to purchase basic school supplies, which can be a major hindrance.

We rely heavily on donated supplies or supplies purchased by the school to ensure that, despite their backgrounds, my students have access to the materials they need to be successful.

My Project

College-bound students know how to take great notes. My Algebra 1 and Geometry students will spend a lot of time this year working on keeping an organized notebook, including a table of contents, summaries of each day's lesson, and interactive features. It is essential that students have notebooks with graph paper pages, as we do graphing almost every day. Unfortunately, these notebooks can be prohibitively expensive for many of my students.

Low-income students should not be prohibited from keeping a high-quality math notebook.

At the end of each year, students always tell me how proud they are of their math notebooks, so I want to make sure that all students have access to this resource. I would like to provide each student, regardless of income level, the exact same notebook at the beginning of the year so that all students can reach a high standard of note-taking.
