There are many students with a variety of needs at our school. The students that would directly benefit are students who need modified curriculum in order to access their curriculum. The students would have a readily accessible way to communicate to their peers and teachers through the use of pictures. These tools needed would allow the materials to be made quicker and longer lasting. The students who would benefit from this project range from preschool to eighth grade. The students are very smart, kind and wanting to learn. The teachers are working hard to give students opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge in their own way to communicate. Their access is limited and teachers are working hard to decrease the limitation.
My Project
These materials will aid in growing the interactive learning in the learning centers. Students who have limited communication will be able to utilize pictures in meaningful ways. Students will read social stories to learn how to act in different situations. A sensory ball and fidget toys will help calm students when agitated. All of the velcro and lamination will help keep the interactive pieces long lasting and to be used by multiple students over years of use. The students are enjoying their new interactive materials and this project will help the materials to grow! Thank you so much for your support!
