Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 4th graders are a talented group of students who attend a small, rural district in Florida. We are a Title 1 Federal School with all students receiving free lunch. We have a diverse group of learners from all different backgrounds. Our school is a large elementary K-5 school with over 800 students. My students are very engaged in their own learning and have been working all year towards improving their critical thinking skills and taking ownership of their learning through studies. They are creative and bright and have no limit to their potential.
My students are working on becoming mathematicians, scientists, historians, explorers, and writers.
My students come to school each day excited about learning new things.
My Project
My students love to take charge in their own learning and work collaboratively on projects in all subject areas. By adding individual dry erase boards, additional classroom whiteboards, and mobile whiteboards, students will be able to work all over the room in a " Thinking Laboratory" setting.
We will be able to transform our classroom in to a "Thinking Laboratory" which is inspired by companies like Google and Apple.
Great inventors like Thomas Alva Edison used similar think tank designs to achieve the most amazing ideas. He is our inspiration for the "Thinking Laboratory".
Students will be able to work on projects all over the room and then share their findings visually with their peers and our at-large school community. Students will be able to give presentations of their ideas and learning on a daily basis. Visual learning is a great learning tool for all students.
