Help me give my students the most active learning environment possible. With a rug with letters and shapes we will be able constantly bring back the learning when we are on the carpet!
I have been teaching 19 years and have finally received the opportunity to teach Pre-K. My hope is to make the most inviting engaging classroom possible. Our carpets are now over 10 years old and just the standard color squares.
Pre-K in my county is something students and families have to qualify for meaning it is based on how low their income is.
These are our most impacted students. My hope is to create the very BEST learning environment so that they can succeed, feel safe, and have literally EVERYTHING they come into contact in the room something they can learn from.
I believe a lot in the impact of ACES on students and know that the visual appearance isn't the fix but it is very important that the kids feel as if the room is their space and not so clinical in nature as many classrooms are.
My Project
If this project is fully funded I will be able to start my pre-k classroom off right! The students will be engaged in learning as soon as they see the carpet. We will be able to practice letters, shapes, and colors in an active and exciting way! As a new pre-k teacher my hope is to create a classroom that is as active and engaging as possible! It also aides in creating the print rich learning environment students need to begin their literacy skills. By having shapes, letters, and colors on the carpet I can reference it all day pulling them back into the learning just by seating them on the carpet!
