Help me give my students the opportunity to explore and engage with curriculum in a multitude of ways. With the IPEVO interactive whiteboard, my students will be able to annotate texts with their peers in the whole class.

With this new set of students this year, we are fast at work getting to know each other and getting ready to thrive in third grade. These kiddos entered kindergarten in my first year teaching and are now my students which is so reassuring! They live in a very small rural Mississippi community (population of 1200). Because we are so rural, I strive to create a learning environment that is tailored to the needs of my students and also very welcoming.
Our kids know each other so well, they have figured out what kind of car I drive!
Many of these students were in my roommate's 1st grade class and they thought she and I were sisters because we carpooled to work one day. So now that some of them are in my classroom, they say, "Hey, you're Ms. B's sister!" Meanwhile, Ms. B is white and I am black, but that just goes to show you how much our students really get to know each other AND their teachers. They look forward to being in your class if you've made the effort to get to know them in kindergarten, first, and second grade.
Many classrooms have transitioned from chalkboards to whiteboards, and from whiteboards to interactive displays. These tools replace the traditional chalkboard or whiteboard space with an oftentimes computer based screen that allows students and teachers alike to access nearly anything from the touch of their finger. I am striving to transition my classroom into a more interactive space by using infrared technology to transform my whiteboard into an interactive one.
This switch will unearth a world of possibilities and allow my students and I to reach an even deeper level of learning.
While we're annotating a text with the IPEVO interactive whiteboard technology, I can pull up a quick video to demonstrate an unknown vocabulary word or start a digital list of unknown words in the text. With the IPEVO interactive whiteboard technology, I can annotate texts on the board and save those for students who were absent. The possibilities are endless. The rewards are inumerable.
