My Students

My AWESOME resource students need five iPads, five protective cases, and a charging station to help them explore using technology and 21-century applications to fulfill all their educational needs. These AWESOME resource students are special education students with specific learning disabilities, other health impairments (including ADHD) and autism.

Most of my resource students spend the majority of their day in the general education setting where they are exposed to technology.

General education teachers use a variety of means to integrate technology into their lessons. What I’ve noticed, though, is that the resource students are struggling to apply what they have learned independently outside of their general education classrooms. Too many of them are not successfully completing projects or assignments that require access and understanding to technology.

My Project

My students have different skill levels and abilities. Most of them only have access to technology at school. I want to be able to help them by providing access to their online assignments as well as be able to use the iPads to enhance the ability to differentiate for the students’ specific needs. The iPads will help the students access the curriculum through accommodations/modifications offered by the increased use of technology.

My goal is to more efficiently meet the students’ IEP goals and benchmarks with the use of the iPad.
