My students are fun, creative, full of questions, and love hands on tasks. They are kind and helpful and are very hard workers.
These special education students in a self-contained and resource setting learn much differently than their peers without disabilities, and need a variety of resources and instructional techniques in order to make progress.
My students in the Kindergarten-2nd grade special education classroom are very motivated to learn how to read and write and I am so inspired daily by their support for each other and dedicated attitude. I would love to give them all the resources to not only be the best people they can be, but the best learners.
My Project
We are requesting two iPads and cases to use during instruction. My students are at a critical age for learning to read. Integrating the use of iPad technology that their general education peers have access to in their classroom can help them achieve their highest potential in learning these important grade-level skills.
In a Title I school, technology is often not readily available to students at school or at home.
Providing these students access to 21st century technology is essential to their success.
With these iPads, my students will be able to access the online portion of their reading curriculum to participate during instructional time as well as complete online activities during independent work station time.
