Help me give my students some art supplies so that we can integrate visual arts into science, math, language and social studies. We also want another group book to read that is non-fiction and engaging for my students.
My students are the best. I bet a lot of teachers say this. They are so fun to be around. Each student has a great personality that makes our classroom fun, engaging, hard-working, and unique.
I was very lucky with my class this year.
My students all seem to care about one another. I have had students constantly looking out for one another in their personal and school lives. I have worked hard with my students in being honest. They understand that honesty is the best policy and if they are honest, they don't get into as much trouble, because it means they understand they did something wrong.
I have more girls than boys in my class, which is uncommon in my grade. This dynamic has made it an interesting class in that we do a lot of acting/dancing in our class. This class challenges me, but they also make me want to be a better teacher for them. I love pulling pranks on my kids and being sarcastic. We love telling stories and really emphasizing what makes each of us unique.
My Project
I am wanting to provide my class with more opportunities for understanding and being engaged with science, social studies and language and that will be through art. I am wanting to use neon pastels for my students to create sea animals with heredity. I will be using black light to show off the colors of their animals and the traits that they have.
These resources will provide my students with so many opportunities.
The chapter book is another non-fiction novel that I would like to have for my students for group work. It will be engaging and interesting for them. The final thing I would like to add to my classroom is a drum, to use for music and dance.
