I teach 7th & 8th grade students in a small farming community in Texas. In August of 2017, devastation arrived in our back yards. Unfortunately, many homes were destroyed by Hurricane Harvey and families left devastated. My students are eager to learn and thrive in the classroom, especially when they are able to show their creativity through projects created on iPads. My students are very diverse and thus have a wide variety of learning styles. By having iPads in my classroom, my students can record their writings and then listen to them for clarity and expression. Through the recordings of varied texts, the iPads will also be used to listen to a wide variety of information that students must be exposed to so that they will become better readers and writers. This technology is a must in our twenty first century society.
My students are eager to learn and use technology, but many of them do not have computers or iPads at home to complete assignments.
By having iPads in my classroom, I would be able to ensure that my students have the tools needed to complete assignments.
My Project
Many students succeed when using iPads, which allow oral administration of comprehension questions as well as writing initiatives. Having the capability to record assignments inside the classroom versus leaving will give them more time in class to read and write effectively.
Technology creates a twenty-first century classroom, helping students both comprehend and facilitate the literature necessary to succeed in future careers as well as life in general.
Having iPads with headphones available for students to concentrate will enhance the curriculum in many ways. Not every student learns in the same manner. Some of them need technology to help streamline their learning styles.
