Diffentiating instruction to various learners in a class is nothing new to any teacher. Teaching to seven different grade levels at one time is new to this teacher at an alternative school primarily for behaviorally/emotionally disabled students in grades 6-12. Each student has an entirely different curriculum for their grade level which must be completed, in hopes that they can eventually return to their regular school. While one student in class may need to work on world history, another may be studying North Carolina history or U.S. Government. With only one of me and seven diffent grade levels to teach, I rely heavily upon computers. By designing different websites for the students, I can tailor the materials that each student must learn and even allow them to play educational games and take quizzes online with a great program called Quia Web. Please check check it out yourself at http://www.quia.com/findout.html I have already begun using the program with the company's free 30-day trial, but I would like to both make my account permanent and share it with the other core teachers at our small school. Please help me to purchase 5 teacher accounts so I can continue to use it in my History classes and share it with the English, Science, Math, and Technology teachers here. The students love it already and their scores are improving...this is only the beginning!
