My Students
I teach an amazing group of Latino and African American 5th grade students. Some of my students are products of broken homes, a few are homeless, and some are latch-key kids. They face situations when they leave my classroom that would weaken even the strongest adult.
My students are so amazingly creative and tech savvy that I want to continue to nurture their love of using the computer and researching to write effective papers.
I love to enhance their learning experiences with access to multimedia and I utilize the awesome resources online that keeps them engaged in learning.
My Project
As we all know, today is the era of technology. I use computers to drive almost every lesson in my classroom. We write and edit our papers directly on the computers and need a classroom printer to show the final project.
I also show lessons like "School House Rock" to get my students engaged in the lesson before I actually teach it.
They love the fun comical way the lessons are taught and it makes it a lot easier for me to lead them into the paper pencil lesson and group activities. Having valuable class speakers will help my students to be able to hear the video with clarity.
