My Students
I have been a special education teacher for two years now and I see students with several different disabilities and needs. My students really enjoy any type of activity that is hands-on. In addition, my students thrive on a stable daily routine.
Everyday my students show a sign of progression and surprises me by their determination!
In my classroom any progression is a big deal, even if it is the most simple tasks. These tasks could range from greeting someone, making a friend, to mastering basic academic skills. To some, these tasks seem like a every day thing, but for my students and I, it means so much more!
My Project
Unfortunately, there are no textbooks or teacher guides for special education teachers. Therefore, this means SPED teachers have to create their own curriculum. These daily journals and books will help me develop a curriculum for english, math, science, and social studies. This will also help my students progress academically by doing simple daily tasks.
In addition, any form of interactive hands-on activity engages and excites my students.
These STEM kit will give my students the opportunity to build, create, and make connections to the outside world by completing these activities. My students deserve the opportunity to have a more stable fun and engaging curriculum!
