Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach twelve students with severe disabilities in a high school serving a community having a disproportionate number of low-income residents unable to provide socioeconomic advantages for their families. Our school serves students in grades 9-12 and boasts rigorous academics, dedicated teachers, and a supportive learning environment.
Despite their physical and other disabilities, my students are eager to do their best.
They want to learn all they can in order to be successful one day. All receive free lunch in the school cafeteria.
My Project
Dinosaur Train will harness students' enthusiasm for and curiosity about dinosaurs, and will spark their interest in life science and natural history. It will also encourage students to compare the characteristics of ancient animals with those that are alive today. As they explore a variety of interesting animals past and present, students will develop the inquiry skills and core knowledge needed to help them think, talk and act like scientists.
Toy Story 3 has wonderful take-home morals for young
Your help will ensure that my students with severe disabilities can build literacy skills needed for participation in a variety of important life skills.
