Mrs. Shaw from Philadelphia PA is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a printer with instant ink capabilities in order to print in color and paper to get started printing.

The students at my school are an energetic and hardworking group of children. They enjoy coming to school, but school funding cuts over the years have impacted what schools can provide to individual classrooms.
I teach second grade in an urban neighborhood where all the students at school are eligible for free breakfast and free lunch.
Some students live below the poverty line and their families struggle to provide them with basic necessities needed to be successful in school. Despite these obstacles, our school has hard-working students, as well as teachers and staff, who strive to make our school a welcoming and inviting place. In addition, our school is one of the top-performing schools in the city.
My school has a copy machine that only prints in black and white and our district doesn't provide teachers with individual printers. But sometimes, we need color copies. I use color copies to make materials for reading and math centers. My students for the past several years have written their own books, which use tons of color ink. Hewlett-Packard has a program called Instant Ink. When the printer gets low on ink, it is automatically shipped before the printer is completely out. I would sign up for the $9.99 plan, which would enable me to print out 300 copies a month. That includes both black and white or color.
Students love when they have something in color.
Having this printer and this specific plan would allow me to print flyers, homework assignments, and anything we needed in color. My students love seeing their photos displayed in the classroom and on the bulletin board. It would be even more special to be able to print their photographs in color.
