My Students

Our school is located in a small rural community and our students don't have the benefit of some of the equipment, clothing, or basic essentials that other students have in other areas.

The students that I have in my classroom are energetic, enthusiastic and share a love and passion for being active through different games and sports.

Some of the things they enjoy are going to the beach to surf, hiking, football, basketball, and volleyball. This year's students are excited and ready to learn new skills and refine some of the skills they already have.

My Project

Aside from the daily uses of stop watch and timers to get class going, having an iPad available in our classroom will help students improve and refine the skills they are learning to help better play the games. Students will be able to record themselves performing a skill and play the recording immediately after to self-assess, receive teacher input and make corrections for improvement.

Instant playback can lead to quicker skill acquisition and better skill performance but the benefits of having an iPad won't stop there!

I strongly agree that giving them an opportunity to see themselves performing the skill will help them to see what is can be corrected for faster learning which will lead to more time playing the game.
