This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school located in one of Virginia's largest cities. All of the students receive free breakfast and lunch and public assistance. Most of the students in my class have limited access to technology at home.
My students are very creative, intelligent and spontaneous.
They are eager to learn new concepts. They are equally excited to use technology to reinforce these concepts. They work hard to improve their skills and strive continuously to be a part of our community of leaders.
My Project
My students will use the Chromebooks with covers during literacy and math stations. During language arts rotations, the students will listen to stories, complete comprehension activities, and practice spelling. During math rotations, the Chromebooks will provide the class with an opportunity to use online activities to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, telling time, place value, and more! The Chromebooks may even be utilized during our science and social studies review lessons.
My students will become actively engaged as they use the Chromebooks to explore the different sites and resources available to them.
This is an excellent opportunity for my students to take ownership of their work and to become familiar with more modern tools of technology.
