Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in an amazing elementary school where the families are very involved, but do not have a lot of financial means. They come from many cultural backgrounds, the majority being Hispanic. The parents work very hard to provide a better life for their children. They volunteer whenever they can and come to many extra activities that involve their children. The children are very excited to learn and get excited to come to school each day. Most are of poverty level, but have a joy of learning and life.
My Project
These supplies will make the difference in our art program by providing quality supplies to low income students. My students do not have access to art supplies in the home. I feel they deserve the same quality art program as wealthier schools.

My students get so excited to use new supplies as we learn about new techniques and artists throughout history. They especially enjoy painting and using metallic colors that really pop! They are learning about new artists with each project and gaining a real appreciation.
