Inspiring Movement in a Third Grade Classroom

My students need yoga balls to provide them with the opportunity for flexible seating, and also so that they are able to move during class.

My Students

My students are eager to learn and get excited about experiencing and learning new things. They love to move around and they love to be active! The lessons that inspire the most engagement and learning are when they are active and learning in a kinesthetic manner. I would love for them to have this opportunity even when it's not built into a lesson.

These students are some of the most kind and caring people I have ever met, and they always want to please and do their very best.

They like to work with me to track their growth and they love to see the progress that they make. I love my job, but I love teaching because of the students that I work with.

My Project

Many students need the ability to move while learning in order to process information that's being presented to them. I find this to be particularly true in my classroom this year.

While movement and kinesthetic learning is integrated throughout the day, having yoga balls will give them the ability to be active, even while they are seated.

These materials will also provide the opportunity for students to have a more flexible seating arrangement on an every day basis. This project will also help to create a learning environment where the need for movement is being met all day, every day.
