This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"There is a brilliant child locked inside every student". I am inspired everyday by my students. Their enthusiasm to learn and ask critical questions on tough topics spoken in class. I believe all my students bring something special to the table. My students already possess a number of natural gifts and talents that will help them succeed in life and the world of work. I believe my students realize how gifted they are already. For instance, my students possess adaptability, perseverance, honesty, inquisitive, teamwork, and entrepreneurship.

My Project

I have two wonderful ELA (English Language Art) fifth grade classes. They are always eager and ready to learn when they come into my class. During the time in my class, students are engaged in reading books or any other engaging activity on their iPads. A world of a difference will be made having headphones and added books to the classroom library. I know my students are always up to reading great books. My goal is to make my students appreciate their time reading in a quiet environment with headphones. In addition, having a paper back library reminds my students that reading can be enjoyed in different ways. One thing for sure, having headphones for each child will make my classroom more enjoyable. Every child will get to immerse themselves in a world of their own without any distractions in the room.
