My Students

We are a multicultural classroom. The majority of our students receive free or reduced-price lunches. We have a large population of migrant students from various places. The largest group is students from Somalia. For some of our students, this is their first time going to school in America.

Many of our students are trauma-impacted, low-income students.

These students view school as their safe place and a place where they can be themselves. We have a very supportive community that is built mostly of refugees.

My Project

My science students are always looking for something new to do. I try to always have building materials on hand.

These materials will help my students engineer and construct new things.

They love to be challenged and I want to bring more materials to my classroom to let them explore and engineer new things. Gravitrax is very popular with my students right now and I would like to make sure to have enough sets so that I can have multiple students working on them. I also want to offer the marble run. These would be used during downtime or during special times.
